feedback

We have received some feedback on our rough cut from the other groups.
-Good shot length apart from the shot of the feet, the second time was a bit too long.
-Most striking- The image of chris with the tape on his mouth
-Mood- Sinister/creepy with the sythe. grim reaper like.
-What will happen in the rest of the film-chris gets torchered and more victims will as well, detective figures it out.
-Genre- Crime/thriller

Sack on the head was good.

Post Shoot

We shot on the first day of half term, 11th of february, with a clear idea of what we needed to do and what we thought was effective.
We did not have our storyboard with us so it limited us slightly but we knew the basics of our shot. We changed a few shots after realising that some our scenes weren't very good.
We didn't have much time due to buses and other appointments.
However the whole thing was very succesful with only a few minor problems. The weather was an issue as it was very bright and sunny and we thought it might compromise the effect of the day to night fiter we are planning to use. We are currently uploading our footage on the computer and we will start editing soon.

In our next blog we will talk about which shots we decided to change and why and what we changed it to.

this is what we are thinking in the way of our music going and its easily remade into a better one. we might try and compare it with ours.

this is our second attempt at making a more detailed storyboard.

this is our new animatic for our thriller project it contains more detailed and descriptive scenes.

feedback from animatic

most of the feedback was positive. we mentioned the fact that a few of our shots have changed also that the music on the animatic wasnt made to be for the real thing.

we were also told that the story board could have been a bit clearer.

we will post tyhe new storyboard to give a better idea of what we are actually doing.

major change to the film title!

after deciding that the title; mustache man was too comical we have changed it to, mustache.

after changing the title we came up with the punn of must-dash and thought we could include this in some way but then decided that was too comical as well.

therefore, our film is now simply called, MUSTACHE.

new titles

i have found a new video which contains loads of different title sequences.the only problem is that they are horror sequences , however it gives us enough inspiration to get a good idea on how we can create titles to go with our video.

feedback on pitch

we presented our pitch to our class and the feedback that we received was mainly positive. people thought that our idea was good and that it could work quite well. they also said that we will have to be careful of the age of actors that we use so that it doesn't become unbelievable.
also, the mustache should be a disguise instead of a mans actual facial hair as this may be more realistic and less comical.
we are now considering on using a daytonight filter which will allow us to shoot footage during the day but change it to look asif it was shot at night once we have loaded it up onto the computer

pitch

we hope to create a thriller that contains two main characters. one of these characters will be the "baddy" and the other will be the victim.
the victim will be tied up in a secret location away from the public eye. he/she will be tied up using rope or duck tape.
our idea is that the person who has tied the victim up is on the way to see them and is possibly on the phone to a friend/member of the victims family to demand a ransom. while filming the man who is not tied up we hope to keep his identity a mystery by only giving little clues to who he is and why he has done this. we will show his feet, eyes and hands but nothing else.

location: forest. stable. chicken shed. garage.

props: duck tape. heavy shoes. some kind of chair? possibly a stool. mustache.

title: mustache man.

costumes: man who is tied up = suit (possibly a suitcase around him... the reason he has been tied up?)
man who has done the tying up = a scary hat. heavy shoes. black coat? black trousers. (fisherman?)

sounds: foot steps, door opening, people being hit, heavy breathing. fast and dramatic soundtrack made using garageband. drums, guitar, electronic sounds.
